Orthodontic Treatment
The two part harmony of your smile.
What are the "two parts to a perfect smile?" This phrase refers to several important things. First and foremost is the two part, cooperative effort of you, the patient, and us, Dr. McSurdy and Staff. In supporting our effort, other individuals play vital roles, especially your family members and your family dentist.
What makes a smile "perfect?" There are two aspects to that, too. One is that the smile is attractive; the other is that it's healthy. And those two aspects are insured once a balance, or harmony, is achieved between the teeth and face. This two part harmony is the goal of orthodontic treatment.
Approximately half our staff has worn braces as adults, including Dr. McSurdy
Finally, "two parts to a perfect smile" represents the two critical phases of Early Orthodontic treatment for our young patients. The first phase: developmental. The second phase: completion. Successful, lifelong results can only be realized when both phases are carried out properly. That is why Dr. McSurdy and Staff stress the early intervention approach recommended by the American Association of Orthodontists, with every child being evaluated for orthodontic therapy by age seven.
No matter what age you are when you embark on your course of treatment, you will soon feel its value as your overall dental health and appearance improve. These valuable improvements may also add to your self confidence as you face the world each day. In such tangible and intangible ways, your time with Dr. McSurdy and Staff will lead to a lifetime of positive results.
